This 8-lesson curriculum guides students through the value of studying current events, appropriate and discerning ways to engage with the news, and how to prepare, practice, and present Extemp speeches. Material can be covered during one semester with ample time to practice Extemp speeches. People with no previous knowledge or experience will be able to learn from the step-by-step progression. This curriculum can be adapted for any educational setting, including home, club, co-op, or classrooms.

Each lesson has three readings, individual exercises for students, and group activities for club or class meetings, as well as an appendix with games, practice impromptu topics, worldview discussion guides, and other lesson extensions. The curriculum is delivered as a digital flipbook and includes a downloadable .pdf file. This flexibility allows you to view on a device or to print and place in a 3-ring binder.
